My Book Review

‘Because of Winn-Dixie’ is about a young girl named India Opal who lives with her father since her mother left her and the family. Her father is a preacher. Mostly she calls him‘ preacher’ he is  usually busy preaching or thinking about preaching. One day, she went to the grocery store that is called Winn-Dixie. This is the place where she met her best friend, Winn-Dixie. She saw him making a big mess in the store and tried to protect him from the store manager who was going to call the pound. Even though he was ugly and skinny, she loved him instantly. So, she took him in and asked her father if they could keep him. Her dad thought about it for a while and decided that it would be OK. Everywhere the preacher and India went Winn-Dixie would go. In this book, India and her dad move to Naomi, Florida and meet a lot of friends. Winn-Dixie helps her and her new friends come together.

I love this book. It is a nice book for children to read. I think my favourite part was when the friends of India came together in a party and Winn-Dixie went missing when all of a sudden a thunderstorm came and India and her father went to look for him. They found him at the end. He was hiding in one of India’s friends bedroom.

This book is recommended to children 7 and over. It is especially good for those who love adventure and heart-warming books.
